Representative Karen Brownlee, LISW-S, is a dedicated clinical social worker from the Cincinnati, Ohio suburbs.

With years of experience advocating for stronger, healthier communities, she brings deep insight into the challenges families face—and the practical solutions that help them thrive. Karen is committed to improving health outcomes for families across Ohio.

Karen is the proud parent of three young adults with her partner, John. Her lifelong commitment to public service is rooted in a simple belief: every community member deserves safety, stability, and a fair shot at success. 

Now in her second year representing Ohio’s 28th House District, Karen has brought a fresh, compassionate, and collaborative voice to the Statehouse. During her first year in office, she introduced legislation designed to build a healthier, more stable Ohio—focusing on commonsense health and safety measures, affordability, and ethical standards. Her work reflects her core values of Collaboration, Transparency, and Representative Democracy.

Drawing on her experience as a mental health provider, Karen excels at bringing people together, fostering productive dialogue, and identifying win-win solutions that elevate the common good. She is recognized for her integrity, high ethical standards, and her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Ohioans.
